Derek Chez - Head Professional & Clubhouse Manager

We are pleased to announce the arrival of Derek Chez. Derek is a CPGA Professional who enjoys helping fellow golfers with their game and helping them see their potential. He has a passion for teaching and is very interested in the equipment and fitting side of the sport as well. Derek has taught junior lessons, group lessons and individual adult lessons for all different skill sets. Derek has been around the golf course the last few years and is excited to join the team at Madge Lake! Derek and the staff at Madge Lake Golf Resort aim to make all patrons feel like part of the Madge Lake family and want to be sure everyone has a memorable experience.

Derek grew up in the Swan River Valley and is originally from Benito. He moved out west to Alberta in 2001, and after working in the oil and gas industry decided to turn professional with the support of his boss in 2006 where he worked in Medicine Hat while in the industry. Derek and his wife Stephanie moved back to the valley in 2016 with their 3 children. They all enjoy the outdoors and spend a lot of time camping, fishing and golfing around the Duck Mountains and in the valley.
